Prithviraj Chauhan was a Chahamana dynasty king who ruled much of north-western India from his capitals, Ajmer and Delhi, during the late 12th century. He is primarily known for his conflicts with the Ghurid invader Muhammad of Ghor. These included the First Battle of Tarain in 1191 CE, where he achieved victory, and the Second Battle of Tarain in 1192 CE, where he was defeated. |
